Pulaski County 19 : 12 Radford
1:30 pm Saturday, Sep 28, 2013
Pulaski High School
A great game between two great communities in the heart of the virginia mountains. Pulaski was led by legendary coach Joel Hicks who was honored after the game for his contributions to the school and its players. MVP of the game went to Kwasi Scott who ran for two touchdowns and had a third called back on an illegal block. Defensive MVP Ryan Dean led the defense for Pulaski as he leveled many recieivers for radford who dared to come over the middle. Also contributing on defense for the cougars were Eric Webb, David Flanigan, Ernie Hodge and David Jeter. Radford fought hard all game but came up short on its last drive and Pulaski held on for the victory. Radford was led on offense by Chris Hairston, Sam Mumpower, Donald Baylor, Jermaine Watkins and John Haley, also Nat Viers played well but had to leave the game to an injury. Defense for Radford was led by Brian Hayden, Justin Lewis, Donald Baylor and Def Mvp Michael Dunbar. Former NFL kicker Shayne Graham played for the Pulaski team and had a great time with his buddies from the past! All and all this game lived up to the hype and both teams brought it to the field and left it all on the field, congrats to both teams!
